Invicta was set up by two former employees of J K Farnell. These were T B Wright and G E Beer. They began around 1935. They made a wide range of soft toys including rabbits, bears, monkeys, cats and dogs. Just before World War II, Invicta started making fully jointed bears. #
The bears can usually be identified by their clear glass eyes which were attached by glue on long wires. They also had five claws stitched over the paw pad and bulbous noses which were sewn in light coloured vertical thread.
