A & H Doll Manufacturing Corp
A & H Doll Manufacturing Corp was based in the United States. They made dolls between 1948 to around 1956.
A & H Doll Manufacturing Corp tended to specialise in costume dolls so they made good collectors items for adults and children alike. They were extremely popular as they were inexpensive to buy. It is the elaborate costumes which make these dolls so desirable. These are some of the dolls which were manufactured by A & H:
- Alice and the Book - This was part of the Marcie "Read and Play" series which was produced diring the early 1950's. She was approximately 7" tall and was packaged in cellophane with the Wonder Book.
- Birthstone Bells - These were approximately 9" tall and each doll was named after a month with its associated birthstone.
- Dolls of Destiny - There were 12 dolls making up the series of Dolls of Destiny. They were made around 1953 and were ladies fashioned after well known historical figures. These consisted of Marie Antoinette, Priscilla Alden, Empress Josephine, Queen Elizabeth I, Betsy Ross, Queen Isabella, Martha Washington, Elizabeth Woodville Grey, Mary Todd Lincoln, Queen Victoria, Empress Eugenie, and Mollie Pitcher.
- Ken Murray's Glamour and TV Cowboys - These were some of the most unusual dolls and although their name sounds like they would be boy dolls, they are actually girl doll dressed as cowgirls. Their costumes were quite risque for the 1950's.
